Ingredients required
- Boom boom sauce is so tasty and combines 3 key ingredients: mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha.
- Mayonnaise – I have used vegan Mayonnaise for this recipe. Feel free to use your favorite brand. Depending on the type of mayonnaise that you’re using, you may need to thin your sauce out a bit with water.
- Sriracha sauce – the spicy component to this sauce. If you are sensitive to spice when you make this recipe, you can reduce the amount of Sriracha. You can use any hot sauce of your choice.
- Sweet chili sauce – I have used Mae Ploy Chili Sauce. Use your favorite brand. Ketchup – Regular or low sodium will work.
- Mustard – I use Dijon mustard but you could also use yellow mustard or a combination of both.
- Onion Powder – Regular onion powder or even minced onion would be a good option.
- Garlic Powder – We like to use garlic powder, but you could also use minced fresh garlic. Don’t use garlic salt in this recipe.
- Seasoning – On top of the above ingredients, I have also used salt and black pepper powder in very little quantity.
Step by step process
- Whisk together all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Cover and store in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- That’s it! Enjoy it with French fries, potato chips, Tater tots, pita chips, burgers, sandwiches, or wraps.
Notes, Pro-tips and Quick FAQs
- If you are looking for a keto variation, instead of thai sweet chili sauce, you can use garlic chili sauce (the unsweetened version) and add any keto-friendly sweetener of choice.
- If you want it to be extra spicy, add some cayenne pepper, chilis, or chopped jalapeno peppers.
- To Make it sweeter use a spoonful of sugar, brown sugar, honey, or maple syrup.
- This recipe can easily be doubled.
- If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it using water, pickle or relish juice, or lime juice.
- If you’re watching your calorie intake, then you can use low-fat mayo or substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
I store Boom Boom sauce in a sealed glass jar in the fridge for 10 to 15 days.
Freezing is recommended if you are not going to finish it within 10 days. Store it in a mason jar or freezer bag for up to three months. Let it thaw in the fridge overnight before use.
