Variyali Sharbat | Fennel seeds drink is known for its pain-relieving, digestion and cooling benefits for your body.

Fennel is a highly aromatic and flavorful herb with lots of medicinal uses. Variyali Sharbat is a healthy drink to beat the summer heat.

It is a popular summer beverage in Gujarat.  The seeds are usually used as a mouth freshener.

Variyali Sharbat

This recipe is a simple traditional drink recipe and very few ingredients go into its making. I made Variyali Sharbat Powder in bulk and stored it in zip lock bag.

It remains fresh up to 4 to 5 months in the refrigerator.  Usually, Rock sugar (Mishri) is used to sweeten the drink. But I couldn’t find in my area and hence used regular sugar.

You can further flavor the basic sharbat with lemon juice and mint leaves.

You can use this powder in water as well as in the milk.

I personally like cold milk. In my home, Its made every day in summers for the whole family.

Do give this Variyali Sharat a try this summer, I am sure you will feel very refreshed and better. 🙂

How to make Variyali Sharbat?

1. Take all the powder ingredients in a big bowl and mix well.

2. Grind them into a fine powder. Store them in an airtight container or zip lock in the refrigerator. As I said, you can store this mixture for up to 4 to 5 months.

3. Whenever you are ready to make a drink,
