Sev Tameta Nu Shak / Sev Tamatar Sabji recipe is one of my all time favorite Gujarati sabzi/curry. Sev Tameta Nu Shak as it’s called in Gujarati is a sweet and sour curry made from tomato, sev and spices. This curry is often eaten with Gujarati Bhakhari or Rotla. This curry is very easy and hardly takes few minutes to prepare.
You can prepare Sev at home or you can buy it from any Indian Grocery store. This curry requires slightly thick Sev. There are variety of Sev you may find in the Store, make sure you select the right one.
This curry is very popular among the Jain Gujarati community in India. This curry is made during the festival of Paryushan Parva when roots and other vegetables are suggested not to consume in the diet.
