Rajma Chakli is a healthy snack. Chakli is deep-fried snack made from rice flour, whole wheat flour, gram flour or with multigrain flour.

There are so many variations of making chakli. They are also known as murukku in the south. This time, I gave a healthy twist to the regular chakli.

I made with RAJMA (Kidney beans). Believe me, it tastes so so good.

My son loves this chakli. When I told him that, one of the ingredients is Rajma (Kidney Beans) in this chakli, he said “Are you Serious!!!!! Don’t think so. No… Nope (With each and every bite). 🙂 “. Then I showed him the pictures which I have taken while kneading the dough. :).

You will need a chakli maker to prepare these chaklis. Make this healthy Rajma Chakli for this Diwali as a snack and surprise your guests and family members.

  • Ginger-chili paste - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 5 tbsp
  • Curd - ¼ cup
  • Oil for deep frying.

Notes

If the Rajma Chakli breaks while forming them, this means that the dough does not have enough moisture. Then add 1 tablespoon water and knead the dough again.
And if you are not getting a proper shape, this means that the dough is too moist. Add some rice flour and knead again.
Ingredients and proportion used here will make very crispy Chaklis. If you like softer version, add 2 tablespoon oil while mixing the dough.
