Chana Salad

Garbanzo beans/chhole chana/Chick peas(like most legumes) have long been valued for their fiber content. Two cups provide the entire Daily Value! I decided to frame Chana salad and put it on my wall as an inspiration to eat more salads after Diwali. I had Diwali snacks, sweets, dinners and desserts over and over again for the past couple of weeks. So much so, that my innards are begging for a break🙂. So made Chana Salad in lunch.

The beauty of this basic recipe of Chana Salad is that it can be prepared in numerous ways.

Ingredients

Boiled Chick pea and red chana – 2 cup

Chopped Cucumber – 1/2 cup

Chopped medium size Tomato – 3

Chopped different colored bell peppers – 1/2 cup

Chopped Carrot – 1/2 cup

Cilantro/Coriander – 2 tbsp

Lemon

Chat masala – 2 tsp

Salt to taste

 

Direction

1. Take Boiled chick peas and red chana in a bowl. Add all the chopped Vegetables and cilantro.

2. Add salt, lemon and chat masala.

3. Mix it well.

4. Put this mixture in refrigerator for one hour.

5. Serve it chilled.
